English Title: Sword Art Online (SAO)
Genre: Action, Adventure, Fantasy, Game, Romance
Aired Date:Jul 8, 2012 to Dec 23, 2012
In the year 2022, virtual reality has progressed by leaps and bounds, and a massive online role-playing game called Sword Art Online (SAO) is launched. With the aid of “NerveGear” technology, players can control their avatars within the game using nothing but their own thoughts.
Kazuto Kirigaya, nicknamed “Kirito,” is among the lucky few enthusiasts who get their hands on the first shipment of the game. He logs in to find himself, with ten-thousand others, in the scenic and elaborate world of Aincrad, one full of fantastic medieval weapons and gruesome monsters. However, in a cruel turn of events, the players soon realize they cannot log out; the game’s creator has trapped them in his new world until they complete all one hundred levels of the game.
In order to escape Aincrad, Kirito will now have to interact and cooperate with his fellow players. Some are allies, while others are foes, like Asuna Yuuki, who commands the leading group attempting to escape from the ruthless game. To make matters worse, Sword Art Online is not all fun and games: if they die in Aincrad, they die in real life. Kirito must adapt to his new reality, fight for his survival, and hopefully break free from his virtual hell.
I was really wondering if I should watch this series or not I heard a lot of thing about it, good and bad thing, however after reading some post here and there about it, I became more curious and end-up putting in on my “To Watch List” , okay maybe more “To Watch Bucket List” since I put all the anime series I wanna watch in a bucket and randomly pick on, thus the reason why I watch it now, but I still try to watch the two first episode objectively.
I really said I try to watch it objectively, but I still think about stuff that I read and try to figure out why people said that. One of the thing I remember reading was the fact Kirito the main character was overpowered, I mean come on, people who think that probably skip the moment when he said he was a Beta Tester, in other word he already play the game a little and I have the feeling it’s the first game of the same type he play. Plus he is a loner, thus if he always fight alone, it’s just logical he will get stronger than the other. Plus the kid might be a loner, but he also have a kind side since he is willing to help the other if they need help as we see with Klein.
I said I read thing here and there, but I must admit I never read the synopsis of it, so yes when I realize the antagonist was given right from the beginning I was kind of surprise, but at least I know who I have to hate, if I wanna hate someone.
I might have only watch two episode, but I feel like I will like that series, I like the fight scene shown so far and even if I’m not a big fan of romance, I wanna see Kirito and Asuna fighting together, just from that 2nd episode, I can tell they are made for each other.
