I know I’m kind of late, I normally post that a little bit before the season start, but since I was determinate to watch what Crunchyroll have to offer, thus I had to wait until most of the Fall 2017 line-up was up. I know there still some blank spot To Be Announced, so if I ever add a new anime in my list, I will let you know in my weekly round-up.
Since I’m not planning a separated First Impression post, I will just throw it in this one.
Watch List + First Impression
The Ancient Magus’ Bride
Hatori Chise is only 16, but she has lost far more than most. With neither family nor hope, it seems all doors are closed to her. But, a chance encounter began to turn the rusted wheels of fate. In her darkest hour, a mysterious magus appears before Chise, offering a chance she couldn’t turn down. This magus who seems closer to demon than human, will he bring her the light she desperately seeks, or drown her in ever deeper shadows?
When the fall title started to be released, I didn’t expect this one to end-up on my list. But after seeing a lot of people getting excited about it, I decide to at least watch the three episode released prior the premier. I have to say I felt in love with it right away. I really like the color and the design and the animation, plus Chise seems to be adorable. The first episode had a really good balance between funny moment, like the bath scene, and more serious one and I hope it stay like that. I don’t know why, but soon as I saw Ruth, I thought of Sirius Black….
Asta and Yuno were abandoned together at the same church and have been inseparable since. As children, they promised that they would compete against each other to see who would become the next Emperor Magus. However, as they grew up, some differences between them became plain. Yuno was a genius with magic, with amazing power and control, while Asta could not use magic at all, and tried to make up for his lack by training physically. When they received their Grimoires at age 15, Yuno got a spectacular book with a four-leaf clover (most people receive a three-leaf-clover), while Asta received nothing at all. However, when Yuno was threatened, the truth about Asta’s power was revealed, he received a five-leaf clover Grimoire, a “black clover”! Now the two friends are heading out in the world, both seeking the same goal!
I was really looking forward that one, I like the promotional video and the story seems interesting, if put aside the fact it seems to be a generic shounen series. A lot of people compare Asta, one of the main character, to Naruto. While he might have Naruto personality, his story, the fact he doesn’t have any magic power, remind me more of Deku. I already know I might prefer Yuno over Asta cause of their personality, but let’s wait it’s just the beginning.
Code: Realize ~Guardian of Rebirth~
Cardia has a deadly poison residing in her body, and as a result, gets called a monster by others. One night, she meets a mysterious man calling himself Arsène Lupin, who leads her to Industrial London. From there, she meets various people uncovering the truths and real stories behind the strange people and land, in an attempt to recover her memories and search for her father who holds the keys to her memories in London.
I know the material source of this anime is a Otome game, I haven’t play it, but one of my friend did and what she had to say about the game, made me curious enough to give it a look. So far I like what I see, Cardia is beautiful and the boys seems really sweet. I can’t wait for the next episode to aired, Van Helsing should be presented and his voice actor have one of the sexiest voice, Suwabe Junichi.
On May 1, 1945 in Berlin, as the Red Army raises the Soviet flag over the Reichskanzlei, a group of Nazi officers conduct a ritual. For them, the slaughter in the city is nothing but the perfect ritual sacrifice in order to bring back the Order of the 13 Lances, a group of supermen whose coming would bring the world’s destruction. Years later, no one knows if this group of officers succeeded, or whether they lived or died. Few know of their existence, and even those who knew began to pass away as the decades passed.
Now in December in the present day in Suwahara City, Ren Fujii spends his days at the hospital. It has been two months since the incident that brought him to the hospital: a fight with his friend Shirou Yusa where they almost tried to kill each other. He tries to value what he has left to him, but every night he sees the same dream: a guillotine, murderers who hunt people, and the black clothed knights who pursue the murderers. He is desperate to return to his normal, everyday life, but even now he hears Shirou’s words: “Everyone who remains in this city eventually loses their minds.”
This is an other one I was looking forward after watching the promotional video. After watching the first episode, I had the same feeling of confusion that I had when I watched “Chain Chronicle: Light of Haecceitas”. I felt like it was missing something to make the viewer understand what was going on. But since that confusion feeling did stopped me to enjoy Chain Chronicle, I don’t see why it will stop be to watch Dies Irae.
Garo: Vanishing Line
In a prosperous city named Russell City, an omen that threatens to shake its world begins to move within it. A man named Sword is the first to hear the first stirrings of the plot, and throws himself into a shadow war in order to expose it. His only clue is the key word “El Dorado.” He meets Sophie, a woman searching for her missing older brother who has only left her with the same words: “El Dorado.” With Sword having also lost his younger sister in the past, both are drawn together by the words, and work together to find out its meaning.
I don’t remember seeing that anime title in the list of the upcoming series for the fall season, the only reason why I decide to give it a look was cause of the promotional poster, I really like the artwork, so I figure I should click and see what it was. And I wasn’t disappointed at all… There is a lot of action and blood and those “Horror” are nightmare fuel, love it. I know there is an alternative setting for this series, but I haven’t watch it and it look really different from this one.
Kino Journey -The Beautiful World- The Animated Series
Destination is a state of mind. A tale of one girl and her bike and the road ahead. Kino wanders around the world on the back of Hermes, her unusual, anthropomorphic motorcycle, only staying in each country for three days. During their adventures, they find happiness, sadness, pain, decadence, violence, beauty, and wisdom. But through it all, they never lose their sense of freedom. They discover that because of the world’s imperfections, it is actually a thing of beauty.
“The world is not beautiful, therefore it is.”
This is another one that was on my radar at all and to be honest, I don’t remember what pushed me to give it a look, all that I can say now it that I’m glad I did it. I knew nothing about it when I watch it, I didn’t even looked up the synopsis, so I found a bit funny the talking motorcycle even more no one seems to bother ^_^’. With that first episode, I feel like a lesson gonna be taught in each episode.
The Recovery of an MMO Junkie
Moriko Morioka is a 30-year-old single NEET woman. After dropping out from reality, she has taken off in search for a fulfilling life and ended up in a net game or “netoge.” In the netoge world, she began her new life as a refreshing and handsome character named Hayashi. While starting out as a beginner, a pretty character named Lily reached out to help her. Meanwhile, in the real world, awaits a shocking encounter with a good-looking elite company employee, a mysterious blue-eyed blonde.
This an other one that I can’t remember why I decide to check it one and of course if it’s on my watch list, I’m glad that I decide to give it a try. And for once the main character, of a series of this type, is a grown-up adult. While it’s not mention on my, I feel like romance will take a good part of it. It’s not that I actually mind, but it’s not something i tend to look for, thus I’m surprising myself by keeping it.
Taishou Mebiusline: Chicchai-san
Hiiragi Kyouichirou is a boy who travels from his provincial town to Tokyo to attend university. He carries with him his family’s sword to protect himself. When he arrives in Tokyo, he becomes swept up in a plot by the Imperial army
I know why I decide to look up that one, cause it’s a short anime, the episode are about 3:30mins long. After looking for some info online, cause to be honest MAL doesn’t give much about this one (not gonna blame them tho) I realize the material source of this anime have a BL game. I watched “Ikemen Sengoku: Bromance Across Time” which the material source is a Otome, so why not watch this one too.
Juuni Taisen: Zodiac War
12 warriors who are burdened with the names of the 12 Chinese Zodiac members fight with each other’s lives and pride at stake, all to grant just one wish.
I remember when I was looking for the up coming title, this one made me really curious. It’s like if you where taking the Sohma Family (“Fruit Basket”) and you where placing them in a “Battle Royal” setting. That should be interesting.
This is all the new series I’m watching this Fall season 2017, to add to that list, Elegant Yokai Apartment Life that is continuing.
If I compare to the last season, I probably watch two or three more title but all are presented on Crunchyroll which definitively make me life much easier. Not planning a weekly post about the series, I try last season and I sadly had to give him. If I decide to drop any of those show above, or if I add something new, I will let you know in the weekly round-up.
~ Thank you for reading ~
See you next time!!
