Synopsis
The project’s premise follows Kouta Hasegawa, a high school boy that loves the yellow Pom Pom Purin dog. By mere coincidence, he ends up attending the same school as Yuu Mizuno, a boy who likes the bunny My Melody. Yuu tells Kouta that there’s nothing to be ashamed of for liking Sanrio’s cute characters. Together, Kouta, Yuu, Shunsuke Yoshino, Ryou Nishimiya, and Seiichirou Minamoto learn to accept their love of the characters instead of feeling embarrassed.

Cute boy doing cute thing, the idea itself was appealing for someone who like cute boy, that was I thought when I saw the promotional video. Not gonna lie I was a little bit deceived.
Yes they are cute (and handsome) boy doing cute thing, it’s really cute to see those high schooler being fan of the different character from Sanrio, plus you have a lesson about being proud of what we like and not let the judgement of other affecting us and for use anime lover who were stigmatize for linking anime and manga, we should relate to that. It’s also a series about self-confidence teaching us that we should accept yourself the way we are.
Looking at that it’s seem to be a decent show right? In fact it would have been decent if the show wasn’t only just a big giant ads for Sanrio characters since the we see them everywhere, there is even shoot that is literally picture from the actual theme park, Puroland, in which they layers the character over, talk about production of high quality, I always knew Studio Pierrot works wasn’t consistent but there is a limit to everything…So it’s useless the say that I wasn’t impress at the visual of the show.
In short if you are a diehard fan of Sanrio character and love cute boy doing cute thing, this show is for you, as for me I will now try to forget that show actually exist.

The advertising in this one didn’t bother me as much as the emotional immaturity of the characters. They felt significantly younger than they were supposed to be and the final conflict was just baffling. Overall, while I thought the idea was interesting, even with the product placement, the writing really let this one down.

My bathroom is Hello Kitty, so if anything, I’d be jealous of all the products!
